A Philosophical Triathlon Site? Crazy!
Yeah, I am crazy. I am a 40 yo active triathlete who just happens to be a Family Medicine Physician on the side (I like to think that my job is the way I support my triathlon vice). On the other side, I am a burgeoning amateur philospher. I love it too. So what better niche to fill, which seems to be severely lacking other than just a couple sites, than to combine philosphy and triathlon and sprinkle it with my take on the medical side of endurance sports. There is a great deal of technical stuff out there with various articles in periodicals and on websites and plenty on the philosophy of this type of training and that type of technique, but I haven't found much of it very applicable to the more esoteric side of the triathlon life. Hence, this website. My goal is to comment on topics and issues and wax philosophical on that thing we love so much, triathlon. Much of the time I will put a health or medical slant as that is what fills much of my brain but not always. Sometimes what I say may not have any of that in it. But in the end I hope that we can create value for each other, develop relationships, and further our passion. I am approaching what I say here as a triathlete who happens to have a bit of medical knowledge, not as a doctor preaching to the masses. In that regard, it is not my intent to, in this forum, become a personal consultant for individual issues. If there is a need for that, I could be persuaded to set up such an endeavor, but this is not it. So do not take any of the information here as personal advice. It is not. It is anecdotal information from my own experience, and as such, is presented as my personal opinion.
